A few days ago, I mentioned how, after a turbulent restructuring, one of our new management team at work resigned after two and a half months at work.

So it shouldn’t really have been too much of a shock when his boss was peremptorily fired on last Monday. He went to a meeting with the head of the department to find someone from HR there as well, and, so the gossip has it, was told that he was no longer required by the organisation and should immediately go. He went.

This left us somewhat in disarray: a new team pushing through a complex collection of strategic projects, losing its prime sponsor. The two remaining members of the management team have hastily tried to pull things together; but, well, successful implementation seems even less likely.

I would have loved to have attended the exit interview of the first guy... I wonder if commented upon the ability of his boss to organise the proverbial...

He was a good cook as good cooks go, and as good cooks go he went.

Nice SMWS photo...

Yes I can imagine many people are frustrated and even angry. Comments have already been made about those who have been "restructured" and the one who was responsible for their "restructure" has now left.

There's also those who were promised a role by the very person who has now left...including yours truly.

You know what though? I'm just not surprised anymore at anything this organisation throws at us.

My desire to leave increases by the second.
