“I don’t necessarily agree with everything I say” – Marshall McLuhan

And whilst I never tell lies, I don’t always tell the truth.

There is no underlying philosophy behind this journal, or blog, or whatever you care to call it. Writing is about communication, so I guess I want to communicate; but more, I want to write. So it is about me, solipsistic.

I used to write letters, but a while ago, I stopped writing. This wasn’t necessarily planned – and there are a couple of unfinished letters still hanging around, somewhere. Letters were like a diary I would write, intermittently.

Now, a few years later, using this new technology, a new way of writing – well, new to me – it seemed like a good idea for me to start again.

The writing will be the thing. Whether anyone reads it or not seems incidental. I hope you do, but if you don’t, it will still have worked for me.

But if you do, I hope you find it interesting.
