For reasons I don't fully understand, many of the people who sometimes look at my journal seem to be in love with the Mini. I don't share the obsession - it seems incredibly girly to like a car because it looks cute - but I did think you might be interested in this article from today's Independent: Mini Marvel: simply brilliant. Yes, it's cute, but to understand the obsession you must drive one. They really are the most fun in the world. I used to own an Alfa GTV which I adored - this is more fun (and more reliable!)

Although I have to say that none of the cosmetic changes in the new one are for the better in my opinion - particularly the interior which to my mind has lost it's fun retro kookiness a bit.

Personally, I don't get the obsession either. And I'm female. ;)

I like my cars to be comfortable. If I want cramped discomfort, I'll go for a boat.

New mini = totally not cramped. <lj user = progmeister>, <ljuser = zantic> and me spent a happy day gallivanting around Ireland's north east in one and weren't stuck for space. And none of us is particularly waif-like!
