Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] progmeister.

I didn't score highly. Strange given that ELP were the first band I saw live; Trilogy was the first LP I bought; Larks' Tongues in Aspic was the second (and one I still play!); and I wanted to be Carl Palmer when I was twelve.

Oh, and I didn't Google any of the questions. I did guess quite a few - since I haven't heard of most of the bands...

Mini-Progger

You scored 41% Progknowledge!

Okay, you got a few right, enough that either you're good with google, or you actually have a little knowledge of the genre. You probably like a few of the more popular prog bands. That's a step in the right direction, now go listen to a LOT MORE! There's a world of progressive music out there, you just have to work to find it!

By the way, the answer to the last question is (c) The Rock Bottom Remainders, which is a band comprised of authors (among them, Dave Barry, Ridley Pearson, Stephen King, Amy Tan, Matt Groening, and Scott Turow). The other three are bands containing a movie star (Tenacious D - Jack Black; Dogstar - Keanu Reeves; Fifty Odd Foot Of Grunt - Russell Crowe).

I looked at the first 20 or so questions and they might as well have been in Ancient Sogdian.

That's pretty much my reaction as well. I've heard of Wakeman, the rest?

It was pretty obscure. It also required in depth knowledge of a very big range of sub-genres and eras, and most fans tend to specialise in a few of them (for sanity's sake if nothing else!)

The highest score I've heard of anyone getting was 79%, and knowing that chap, I was more than happy with my 61%!
