Vase 0 Cat 1

Last night my wife said to me "Now the cats are less destructive, we can get some of our ceramics out."

This morning - just now, indeed - to prove her wrong, our male cat was walking along the mantle piece and took exception to a rather lovely vase. Perhaps he was trying to liberate the roses.

So he knocked it to the floor. It landed on a small statuette of a nude that my wife made a long time ago. Where it smashed, sending chards of vase all over the place, and spilling a large amount of water. I have never had to remove bits of crockery from a there before, anyway!

Strangely, the vase has been used a lot without any problems. Not any more.

Well, yes. But I somehow doubt that roses are on the recommended diet list for felines. Mine tend to chew the flowers when irritated that I am tardy with petting or food.
