Ever since I have looked after Talisker, he has been no believer in personal space. He has insisted, for instance, on watching me bathe: in my old house, if I were in the bath, he would scratch and miao at the bathroom door if it were closed, and frankly it was always easier to give in than argue. He would get into the bath when the water drained out.

In my new flat, he has continued to watch me shower and bathe. The shower is separate from the bath, with a glass door. After I have left the shower, he scratches at the shower-door until I open it, after which he steps into the shower.

This morning, he was waiting by the shower door, and as I left the shower, he went into it.

I have no idea why he does this; perhaps he played in puddles, too, when he was allowed out. One time, I put the shower on again when he was inside, and he didn't seem at all happy. (Believe me, it wasn't cruel. It was irresistible.)

I had a cat who liked to peek around the shower curtain at me while I was in the shower. One time he lost his footing and slid right into the tub. After that he was more careful. ;)

I must admit I can't make up my mind how I feel about it. It seems slightly voyeuristic...!

In his case, it was just plain curiosity. He couldn't stand to not know what was happening!

Widget always used to come and sit on the side of the bath when I was in it. Until the day when she fell in (happily after I had got out). Now she confines herself to sticking her head down the loo. I'm not sure if this is an improvement.

Talisker fell in the bath a couple of months ago.

When I was in it.

I was quite badly scratched as he struggled to get out!

It hasn't put him off!

*Stunning* photo!

Gomez is also a bath cat, and there are major strops if she doesn't have the chance to drink from the water before I add chemicals.

Talisker also drinks from the bath or from puddles on the side of the bath. He seems keener to drink from the bath than he is to drink from his water bowl!

Also, Frankie said she thought it was a great photo, too (in an email).

I pointed out that this was ALL down to the skill of the photographer.

Strangely enough, she didn't agree.

So not getting in the middle of an argument between you two again!

That wasn't an argument.

That was the Great Kittish Bake Off...
