This video of George Galloway appealing to the voters of Bradford West on the basis of his (and their) faith and his opposition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is chilling. A powerful speaker, but I doubt how well he will represent his new constituents. And the intrusion of religion into our respresentative democracy is disturbing. (via Heywood Hadfield)

I don't mind the religious aspect so much. You vote for the person, and religion can be a big part of who a person is. However clearly this is insincere, manipulative, aggressive and threatening and this abuse has no place anywhere, never mind politics. In fact, it has to accept a large share of the blame for the problems he describes.
