It is very strange how, for some people, a single word can embody so much meaning. Words do indeed have power.

I'm proofreading quite a fascinating thesis on the word 'career' at the moment. Can't say much about it due to confidentiality, but to my surprise it has a completely different meaning and connotation in Japan than it does in the UK.
