As [livejournal.com profile] white_hart has pointed out, my review of Pride and Prejudice has been published on the blogapenguin website.

I wrote it so long ago, I had forgotten about it until the kind people at Penguin sent me an email last weekend, telling me they had finally posted it.

I'm glad that they're sending me something I think I can get into—I've never managed to watch one of the adaptations without giving up in frustration, let alone read any Austen.

I know enough about them to get jokes (and love Fforde), but just can't be bothered to read. But then I'm like that with a lot of 'classics', there's so much good stuff being published now that catching up with stuff I 'ought' to have read seems at times to be pointless.

I was thinking about signing up again, but I think I prefer writing about things I want to write about, rather than what some computer decides to mail me.

Reviewing things is much harder than I imagined before I started this journal!

Agreed—I have a review icon, and a review tag, but neither is really used. I really admire people that can post reviews, but I'm not one of them, I can't seem to get past "like/not like", never managed to find my critical faculties.
