rhythmaning: (Armed Forces)

I was just reading Donald Clark on Google’s blog search, and since I haven’t used it before, I thought I’d give it a go. So I go to Google, find the Google blog search option (located on the “more” menu), and, naturally, search for “rhythmaning”.

Come one, what else would I look for?

Needless to say, it found this journal (though I can’t work out why it picked the couple of posts it did – maybe they only index every few days or so).

But I also found an adult blog had linked to my journal. This struck me as very, very strange. The post they were quoting was about art exhibitions during the Edinburgh Festival, and the owner of the blog must have searched on “erotic art” or similar – one of the exhibitions was “Naked Portraits”, and I had commented on the erotic (and otherwise) nature of the pictures and the concept.

It is very odd, and not altogether pleasing, to have been quoted by an adult site; the interweb is a very strange place indeed.

Also worth searching for your URL, it'll give you anyone linking in (well it shoud do anyway:
http://www.google.co.uk/blogsearch?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=http%3A%2F%2Frhythmaning.livejournal.com%2F&btnG=Search+Blogs
I prefer Technorati and Bloglines though:

http://www.bloglines.com/search?q=Bcite:http%3A%2F%2Frhythmaning.livejournal.com%2F&ql=en&s=f&pop=l&news=m

Used to check them obsessively when I was trying to bea 'proper' blogger, they do RSS feeds and everything. These days I glance every so often.
