I think it is the power supply or the on-switch, but I don't know how to test it to find out. And if I did, I wouldn't know how to fix it.
Can anyone recommend a user-friendly PC repair man in Edinburgh I could safely leave my precious machine with?

Oh, and this explains why the next post doesn't have any of my photographs in it. Because they are on the hard drive of my PC...
