Yum I seriously love Tiramisu - if that's on the menu, I plan the meal backwards!

You were a porter at Harrods?

*head explodes*

It was part of the entry criteria for Oxbridge: vacation job at Harrods.

I had to sit A levels, an entrance exam and have an interview.

And then I had to be a porter at Harrods - once for the winter sale, and once for the summer.

I worked in fridges one time, and carpets the other. Carpets was possibly the best job I've had - sitting around reading all day (Gormenghast, I recall) to be called on a few times a day to move carpets around.

I don't think you meant this the way I read it.

Dig the ambiguity.

Ah, The Shore.... there ARE some good things about Edinburgh...

Had my fish and chips fix at Anstruther last week, and well worth the drive it was.

There are loads of good things about Edinburgh! Not least that the bastard town planners didn't drive a motorway through the city centre - though they wanted to, apparently.

Ah well, I'd never say nice things about Auld Reekie - you just have to infer my true opinion of the place by how often I seem to go there...

[identity profile] f4f3.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 04:34 pm (UTC)(link)
That's because you're one of the nicest things about Edinburgh.

But she lives in London. Discuss.

I get easily confused in big cities. I'm just a country boy (this is an absolute lie, but still...)

[identity profile] frankie-ecap.livejournal.com 2005-12-16 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That's not the confusion of the big city, honey. That'll be the drink.

"Mine's a large one!"
