At the end of May, I climbed Ben Dubhchraig. It was meant to be fine day - which I why I went - but it was foggy all the way up. The track lead through what I had thought would be one plantation - depressing ranks of monoculture trees - but turned out to be beautiful native pine forest. The glen was absolutely beautiful. But foggy. (No photos!)

The track runs parallel to the railway for a while - the line from Crianlarich to Oban. A bridge takes the track over the railway. As I was walking back, a train approached. I stood on the bridge, and waved. The train driver waved back.

(It was only afterwards the I thought how nervous it might have made him. Perhaps he thought I was a jumper, and was relieved when I simply waved?)
