"Macallan"

This is "Macallan". "Macallan" is a local cat - there are a great many - who has taken to visiting, both the garden and, since he found that the catflap sometimes doesn't close properly after Talisker has come in, the house as well. He has twice woken me up - he sounds completely different to Talisker.

He is a little bigger than Talisker, an un-neutered tom. Talisker seems very unpeturbed by "Macallan" - he has chased him out of the house a couple of time, but generally he isn't bothered if they're both in the garden (as they were just now - which is what prompted me to post this).

I had thought "Macallan" might be a lost cat - which is why I took his picture. But he seems well fed, and his coat is in good condition. He doesn't have a collar. I was annoyed when [livejournal.com profile] widgetfox suggested he should be called "Macallan", since I didn't want to get attached to him, thinking he may be a stray.

I checked the various websites which list missing cats, and he wasn't on any of them that I could see. A large number of cats sadly were, though there were a few happy stories of cats being traced, too.

And since it is a while since I have posted any pictures, here's Talisker this afternoon (taken with my phone, so it isn't a great quality photo...)

Local kitties are there to make life better, like my chubby black tom chum from next door who is about to bounce on my knee as I type...

All cats sound completely different to Talisker.

Macallan is gorgeous! I am worried about what is going to happen to him when you go back.

Talisker is gorgeous too, she adds hastily.

He'd be a lot more ragged than that if he were a stray. I do wish people would neuter their pets, though. In the case of boys, I never understand why they don't as the spraying must smell horrible.

Thanks for confirming my opinion! I was worried about leaving him.

Exactly the same as now, only I won't be here to post about it!
