I went for an early morning walk on Portobello beach this morning, to catch the sunrise.
The beach was quiet, though an over-eager choclate labrador puppy repeatedly jumped at me at one point, to the embarrassment of its owner.
There was frost on the sand, which I had not noticed before; but then I don't remember walking on a beach in the middle of winter before, either.
The sunrise itself was attractive, though slightly hazy; the haar lay out on the Forth to the north of the beach.
A large row-boat with three or four oarsmen was launched from the beach; a flight of swans - a skein? - flew overhead.
Sometime, they'll be some photos, too.
