I told a colleague a joke last week he'd told me the previous week. This happens all the time - I remember a joke or a piece of news, but almost never who told me.
He replied "you can remember the information, or the source but never both!"
I replied "yes, it's sort of like the psychochicken uncertainty principle" to which he looked blankly back at me.
