Due to public demand – well, itchyfidget – I am repeating this meme but being quite as elitist as I could be.

• Name a CD you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
  
  Well, I reckon Trio AAB did it, but how about Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams and Wynton Marsalis – Live at Nice, 1981. This is a disc ripped by my brother off a personal tape recording; so there are maybe three other copies in the world – and the owner doesn’t read this blog!



• Name a book you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
  
  I think my PhD thesis or MBA dissertation really would be pushing it; so I shall name a book called A Peacock on the Lawn; it is by my grandmother. frankie_ecap would like it – it features a photograph of a cat called Puss-in-Boots on the cover.
  
  
• Name a movie you own on DVD/VHS/whatever that you think no-one else on your friendslist does:
  
  So this one is easy: I have a video of a black and white short from 1966 by a director called Lionel Ngakane. It is called “Jemima and Johhny” – its orignal title was actually Johnny and Jemima, which I thought was much better. A five year old me played Johnny.
  
  
• Name a place that you have visited that you think no-one else on your friendslist has been:
  
  Sure, the top of Lupanga was probably the best I could do, and I have used New Caledonia in some other meme; so I shall name Kapit, a trading town in the jungle of Sarawak in Borneo. It can only be reached by boat. The locals sat on the boat watching martial arts videos, whilst G and I sat out in the sun, getting burnt, pretending we were extras in Apocalypse Now.
  
  
• Name a piece of technology or any sort of tool you own that you think no-one else on your friendslist has:
  
  So this one is harder. But I bet none of you have both a drumkit and an alto saxophone.

Why is it that my entire friendslist has a much more interesting life/CD collection/bookcase than me? Although, if you're gonna be bragging about musical instruments I can contribute my viola. And I'm pretty sure I'm the only violist on my f-list at least.... And one day I shall inherit the earth bagpipes and an Alpenhorn. :P
