Things To Do ~~In Denver When You're Dead~~ London

Because obviously, everyone in London doesn't have enough things to do. And needs advice from someone who doesn't live there.

But still. I read last weekend that Slava's SnowShow is coming to London next week.

We went to see this in Edinburgh a few years ago. It was one of the best pieces of theatre I have seen. It was beautiful and wonderful. It was so good that the audience stayed in the theatre for forty five minutes after the show had finished, playing with child-like glee. According to the blurb, Simon Callow said "This is the single most beautiful thing I have ever seen in a theatre in my life."

The show is in Milton Keynes this weekend, and then in Wimbledon next week. And I see it is in Glasgow sometime next month...

Also, those of you that frequent the SMWS may be aware of this already, but Jamie Primrose, one of my neighbours and a very good (and prolific) painter, has an exhibition at the SMWS rooms in Greville St in November. There are a couple of private views if you want to grab a glass of wine whilst looking at the paintings - the SMWS events list has details.

In edinburgh, open fires, huge members room and a nifty members only restaurant, in London something resembling a BA Lounge,but with great steak sandwiches from the Bleeding Heart below.

Well, you're not selling me on the steak sandwiches, but the rest sounds good :)

Let me know if you're ever in Edinburgh - I have a network of sympathetic members. Some of them are housebroken, too.

And in the other Edinburgh - ok, in Leith - they do really good Sunday roasts. Excellent food, very good value. Although the afternoon does seem to slip by with the whiskies.

We could have gone! It was the backstop if UrbanAngel had been full.

Didn't know that - last time I was there you could only get soup and sandwich lunches. Sounds like a splendid idea.

I noticed that the movie of the same title was on TV this week - a little gem, I've always thought.

Well, it is just around the corner...

I couldn't recommend the Sunday lunch more - it was very, very good. It is going to become a regular event for us, I think!

It is a very good movie. But then I like Christopher Walken.
