I've never been to Glen Affric, but my dad is a huge fan and has been several times. It sounds terrific :)

(I'm not really a fan of hostels either. They were great fun when I was a kid, when we youth-hostelled extensively, but I couldn't stand it now, I don't think. I think my dad quite likes them, though I get the strong impression that my stepmother doesn't, so when they go abroad they stay in hotels/pensions/B&Bs)
