Guilty Pleasures
Every so often, memes do the rounds that ask one to list guilty pleasures; and I always bomb at this point, since I have little to be guilty about, and pleasure isn't something one should feel guilty about.
However, it occurred to me recently that I do have a guilty pleasure. Well, i don't feel guilty about it - but it is rather out of character.
I am addicted to Strictly Come Dancing. This is a tv show in which people "famous" in other areas are coached in ballroom dancing. I don't know who many of the "celebs" are - most of them seem to be stars in tv soaps (which I don't watch), with some former pop starts and sportsmen thrown in there.
However, I find it compulsive viewing. It may be the dresses (or lack of them), the legs, the music (though most of the music seems pretty naff), or the thrill of seeing people humiliate themselves (actually, most of them are pretty good at dancing - they are quite impressive - though they do get intensive coaching).
It is all just such fun.
So next time I fail to answer that question in a meme, you'll know the truth.
